The Town of Mount Pleasant is proud to announce a new partnership with Lowcountry Local First (LLF) as part of its Local Economic Ambassador program, reinforcing the Town’s commitment to supporting and elevating local, independent businesses.
This collaboration launches in July and will be a joint effort between LLF and Mount Pleasant Made, the Town’s economic development initiative focused on showcasing local talent, businesses, and investment opportunities. As an official Local Economic Ambassador, Mount Pleasant joins a regional network of municipalities working to foster stronger, more resilient local economies.
“Small businesses are the backbone of Mount Pleasant’s economy,” said Will Haynie, mayor. “They create jobs, spark innovation, and bring unique character to our community. Through this partnership with LLF, we’re putting real muscle behind our Mount Pleasant Made brand — helping local entrepreneurs not just survive, but thrive.”
Through the year-long program, Mount Pleasant will gain:
- Inclusion in LLF’s regional campaigns such as Buy Local Season and Eat Drink Local Season
- Co-hosted events and networking opportunities to support and equip local entrepreneurs
- Tools and resources to promote local procurement and visibility for independent businesses
- Access to survey insights that inform stronger local business policy
